As many readers know, I had scheduled a happy hour for Africanists in DC for this evening. Due to Hurricane Sandy and various closures and logistical complications associated with the storm, it seems wise to postpone the happy hour until the week of November 5th. I am working on a new date and will give an update here as soon as that’s finalized. In the meantime I hope that everyone in the DC area (and elsewhere!) is staying safe.
So, to be ultra-clear: there will be no happy hour tonight. Look out for an announcement with the new date.
How’s the weather in D.C. now? Just got into Philadelphia after plans south got cut short, not terrible yet but it’s expected to get worse.
From where I sit it doesn’t look too bad, but I wouldn’t want to be outside.
