Mike Okonkwo

Biography: Mike Okonkwo was born in 1945 in present-day Anambra State. While working as a banker from 1964-1971, he had a religious awakening in 1970 and was ordained in the United Church of Christ the following year. In the early 1980s, he earned degrees from the Morris Cerrullo School of Ministry and the Covington Theological Seminary in the United States, as well as other institutions. He is now Presiding Bishop and Chairman of TREM, which he helped found in 1980-1981. He is a major leader in Nigeria’s Pentecostal community: he served as Deputy National President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) from 1995-1998, and as PFN President from 1998-2007.
